Making her first club appearance behind the turntables back in December 1998, New York-based DJ June Joseph has been steadily gaining a solid reputation as a turntablist to watch. Spinning an eclectic program that runs the gamut of club music, she gives clubbers sets that are as diverse as her fans. Her programming can veer anywhere from hard house and techno to smooth garage vocals, deep grooves to Afro and Latin beats and as well as two step and broken beat rhythms, the unifying factor being unadulterated funky bass lines. "The first thing that grabs me when I hear a track is the bass line, then there are the intricate drum patterns. But initially, it's a thumping bass, which I find irresistible. It's the common thread that ties all the music I play together."

Known as a music journalist, in the past writing for publications such as i-D, MixMag UK, MTV, Hip-Hop Connection and Vibe, she is currently scribing for XLR8R, Billboard and BPM Culture to name but a few. For her contributions to nightlife culture, June was named one of the key players in New York City's club scene as well as one of the 30 most influential women in dance music, according to DMA magazine (April 2000 and July 2001 issues respectively). In addition to articles in DMA, she has also been profiled on various Web sites, including gURL and Clubplanet, with upcoming profiles due on DivaStation, UndergroundFiles and www.girlsgotrhythm.com. She has had the honor of opening for Danny Tenaglia at his respected Be Yourself party, where she tag teamed with Konrad Carelli, the man who taught her to spin. "I not only adore Danny, but I consider him a consummate craftsman on the decks. To open for him was definitely a career highlight!"The British DJ is currently completing work on her second music production, scheduled to be released this weekend. Having finished two music arrangements for Estereo recording artist, Marlo on the upcoming release, "Another One," she's working alongside notable producers in the States and the UK, including collaborations with artists such as England's Light Particle of Mo' Betta MusiQ (MBM UK). She promises her productions will run the gamut of musical tastes, much like her DJ sets. June Joseph has toured extensively through the US with Tony Villa and is thrilled to be spinning (or piloting) another original Tony Villa Creative Event! June Joseph is booked exclusively through Mir Media.
