Old-school freestylin' DJ TONY MORAN is tearing up today's circuit scene. This year alone, Tony's headlined six major parties including the Memorial Day "Alegria" party in New York, "Dancing On the Bay" and Labor Day "Zenith" parties on Fire Island, "Soakin Wet" in New York, "Black and Blue" in Montreal and "The Hell Ball" in San Francisco. He's released four compilation albums from Centaur Entertainment: "Global Groove: House", "Global Groove: A Deeper Heart", "Party Groove: Hotlanta", and "Maze: Miami Beach." He also wrote the score for the independent film "Circuit." Now, along with continuing his nationwide touring schedule, Tony is releasing his latest compilation disc, also from Centaur, "Global Groove: Clubland 2". "Global Groove: Clubland 2" will make you sweat, scream, hug and smile. For those who never have experienced Tony Moran live before, the new CD offers a glimpse of why the rising spinmaster has emerged as one of today's most sought after DJs. The set starts with E Samba, combining a Latin house feel with a sexy Brazilian chant. Moran continues the Latin with Dulce Del Piano, then leads into vocals with rising dance sensation Becky Baeling's Getaway, followed by Madonna's American Life. He then returns to hard beats with Kevin Aviance's Give It Up and The Orange Factory's White Horse. Next is the peak. And what a peak it is. Kathy Brown delivers a song that makes you do exactly what it tells you to do. Turn Me Out (Get On Up), an Escape vs. Guido remix, tears the house apart! And Moran doesn't stop there. He keeps the party jumping with Drums by Angelo Kortez. Following the chaos comes, what else? Love. The part of the set when dripping, sweating hard bodies embrace in unity. Who better to bring the love than party favorite Reina? She sings Vivo Per Lei, meaning I Live For You. And finally, the party nearing its end, Moran winds down with The Bagiuo Track by Luzon. The moody groove signals the journey is coming to an end. The time has come to lay your body to rest as visions of last night's kinetic revelry dance in your head. A whole evening's party in a single compact disc. That's "Global Groove: Clubland 2", the fifth compilation CD from rising favorite, DJ Tony Moran. Tony Moran's career began in 1981 when he and friend Albert Cabrera teamed to create a whole new step in the record making process. Together they were The Latin Rascals, whose re-edited versions of hit songs spliced together enjoyed major air-play on New York dance radio WKTU's popular mix show. The radio exposure led to a deal from Shakedown Studios who hired the duo to restructure popular hit radio songs into viable dance club hits. Shortly thereafter, they were contracted by another studio, Fever Records, to write and produce a song for one of their new acts, The Cover Girls. The result was "Show Me", a song that not only became Tony Moran's first Top 40 gold record but also helped to usher in the "freestyle" era of music. This opened the doors for new artists including TKA, Safire ("Boy I've Been Told"), and Lisette Melendez ("Together Forever"), all of whom benefited from the skillful hands of Moran and Cabrera. Tony Moran credits his freestyle background for the pop sensibility he incorporates into his music today. "Playing music that generates a feel-good energy is what I love about being a DJ/mix master," explains Tony. He eschews the strict underground house mentality preferred by many of his contemporaries and instead prefers to impart his remixes and productions with a hook laden commercial appeal that is both radio friendly and dance floor ready. Tony measures a successful dance floor with the number of hands in the air - not just dancing, but singing along too. "Dance music is where my heart is. Over the last year I've worked on developing dance music that is also pop music. Working with artists like Donna Summer (Universal), Kevin Aviance (Emerge Records) and Becky Baeling (Universal) has been really exciting for me." In addition, Tony is currently working on remixes of Beyonce's Knowles "Me, Myself and I" (Sony Music), Kristine W's "I'll Be Your Light" (Tommy Boy), Donna Summer's "You're So Beautiful", and two of his own songs: "The Promise" (2004 Mix Remixed by Tony Moran and Warren Rigg) and "If You Leave" (2004 Mix Remixed by Tony Moran and Mac Quayle). "The Promise" and "If You Leave" will be released simultaneously on the same package at the end of December 2003.
